Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is considered as one of the most common plastic surgery procedures worldwide. It is a surgical procedure that results in enhancing the size and shape of a woman's breast. The most common reasons for a woman to undergo this procedure are breast atrophy due to genetic causes, breast imbalance, reduction in breast volume due to pregnancy or major weight loss, improving the appearance of the breast or to create the appearance of a missing or deformed breast due to trauma.

Application/Action

At the first appointment, the patient will be informed by the doctor about how the surgery will be performed. At this stage, Dr. HONDRALIS will explain everything she needs to vmportant factors contribute to the choice of placement. Body type and the appearance of the chest wall and breasts are the selection criteria. When the woman is admitted to the hospital, a complete preoperative check-up is done, i.e. blood tests, chest X-ray and cardiac examination. The incisions for augmentation are very small and do not exceed 4cm. The stitching of the incisions is done with great care so as not to leave any scar. The procedure takes about 2 hours.

Return to everyday life

After the surgery, a dressing is applied to the breast for at least one day. Then, the patient wears a special bra for about one month, which must be worn 24 hours a day, except during bathing. The patient is usually discharged home after one day. Return to work is possible after one week, following all postoperative instructions carefully, which include avoiding heavy lifting and sudden movements. It is recommended not to drive for 10 days. For manual labor jobs, return to work is usually after 20 days, while for sedentary work it can be after 5-7 days. If the woman exercises regularly, she should refrain from physical activity for about one month.
